Christmas Presents!!!

PARO is an advanced interactive robot developed by AIST, a leading Japanese industrial automation pioneer. It allows the documented benefits of animal therapy to be administered to patients in environments such as hospitals and extended care facilities where live animals present treatment or logistical difficulties.

Paro has five kinds of sensors: tactile, light, audition, temperature, and posture sensors, with which it can perceive people and its environment. He feels being stroked and beaten by tactile sensor, or being held by the posture sensor. Paro can also recognize the direction of voice and words such as its name, greetings, and praise with its audio sensor.

I discovered this in a teachers magazine at Bryn's house.

Chez Tinski

This is a roadside restaurant on the road to Sikar from Jaipur. A Nazi haven interestingly enough!!!

...just kidding, the swastika is actually an age old (dated back 3000 years or so) Vedic (old Hindu) cross or religious symbol. It was adopted (stolen) by the Hitler nd the Nazi's as their logo in the 20's. Right tinski?? It's funny cause you see it everywhere here in India, but its just a traditional cross, just freaky seeing it so much. And of course when I saw it I could only help but think of our whacky pal, the Tin-man. This is where I imagine he would most of his meals in India.

Google logo: is it an unexplained phenomenon?

Google trending topics right now show two of the top ten trends as #1 unexplained phenomenon and #6 "top 10 unexplained phenomena." And the Google logo today seems to go right along with that topic.

The logo represents "unexplained phenomena" like UFOs. Because of the logo, a chicken-egg question naturally arises: is it a coincedence that the logo today represents unexplained phenomena, or are people searching for unexplained phenomena because of the logo?

Whatever the answer is, more information is available about this topic. See the top 10 unexplained phenomena here. Interesting and eerie at the same time.
